We have the experience to assess and advise you on Compromise Agreements.
A Compromise Agreement is a legally binding agreement following the termination of your employment. In simple terms it provides for a severance payment by your employer, in return for which you agree not to pursue any claim you may have against your employer. Quite often, the Compromise Agreement will also deal with the notice element in your employment contract and may provide for payment in lieu. It may also seek to deal with other related issues.
Employers are now increasingly using Compromise Agreements as a mechanism for preventing possible future complaints to a Tribunal, especially in redundancy situations. An independent Solicitor must advise the employee as to the terms of the agreement and implications of it before it is executed by the employee and we are experienced in providing that advice as well as advice regarding other aspects of Employment Law.
